If you are looking to become a consultant the following questions may help you decide:
- First of all, you should know that you will get an instruction book free if you purchase a kit when you sign up as a new consultant. It will help you learn how to run a successful business! I have often encountered the following questions, so I thought I would address them from my own experience.
- How much should I charge for jewelry? Paparazzi’s success is based on “Everything is $5″. Here in Utah tax is 6.5% (where I am located), which makes it $5.33 per piece. I just round it up to $5.50, don't charge tax on the $1 little girls items and then I am covered on all tax and any shipping costs.
- How much will I make? You will pay $2.75 per piece plus your state tax per item, then you turn around and sell it for $5 plus tax! That is 45% profit! And the great thing is EVERYONE MAKES 45%! There is no sliding scale, so if you have a slow month and want to purchase items again for a party/event, you don't have to pay higher prices like other companies do.

- What if I don’t have enough money to buy a kit? You can start for $40, so you can have access as a consultant, but that does not include any inventory. You can then buy piecemeal, as you can afford it. From my experience, however, I bought the $700 kit (250 pieces) and already bought another 230 pieces less than a week later because I had 10 parties and events booked after my first party and a few phone calls. - I want to wait awhile before I sign up. DON’T WAIT! This company is a baby. You are LUCKY to know about it now before everybody and their dog signs up. Where were you when Scentsy started? Didn’t Thirty-One pop up out of nowhere overnight? I know it wasn’t just an accident for me to fall upon this company. I know I am blessed, and I’m taking advantage of it!
- Do I need to know a lot of people to sell the jewelry to? Nope. Don’t limit yourself, and you will be successful. Anyone can have a “launch party” to get started. Wear your jewelry and people will ask where you got the beautiful necklace from, and you will be able to tell them about your business. And, I really like doing events like craft fairs and fundraisers. I currently know of at least 15 local events I want to give to my downline, but I need more ladies to give them to!
- Will you get something if I sign up? Of course, but that is the beauty of this business. When you sign up someone yourself, you will get a bonus, too! My independent consultant ID is #1239. You can also order items via email and I will send you a PayPal invoice. (shipping $1.50 per item, ask about discount on shipping for 5 items or more) Contact me for more information. I can also send you the $25.00 worth in FREE product that I offer those who sign up with me prior to you signing up. Q: When I order my inventory, how long will it take to receive my items?
A: They ship out of southern Utah via UPS. Paparazzi usually fills the order in 1-2 business days. You can visit UPS to see approximately how long it will take to arrive at your home. Paparazzi Corporate also sends you an email confirmation of your order, another email with the UPS tracking number, and finally one when it arrives! They are very thorough. LOVE IT!
Q: Is there a catalog?
A: There is not a catalog. With fashion changes and backorders it makes it very difficult to have a catalog and keep it up to date. In order to keep prices as low as they are there will not be a catalog or online shopping from their corporate website. Q: Is everything really sold for $5.00?
A: Yes, everything is $5.00! There are exceptions with the young girl/tween items, which are only $1. Please contact me for more specific clarification. But just plan on selling everything for only $5.00. The jewelry is not "cheap". The price is set low enough that you'll have women returning to your home for more and more. I've witnessed it myself! Our products are comparable to Target and Kohl's, but at the fraction of the price.
Q: If I become a consultant of Paparazzi Accessories how much product do I need to purchase each month to maintain my "consultant" status?
A: According to Paparazzi policies and procedures "Order at least 200 PV of inventory within the previous twelve (12) consecutive calendar months." To be considered "active" though, and receive commissions, you need to purchase a minimum of 50 PV each month which tiers 100 PV up as you grow your business. (Confused about PV? PV is Personal Value & here is what it means: 1 items = 2PV. So you need to purchase 100 items per year to maintain your consultant status. But in order to be "active" and receive the commission from those who have signed up under you, you need to purchase at least 25 items = 50PV...make sense?)

Q: Are there minimums to sell each month or yearly fees that have to be paid to keep your consultant status?
A: There are no yearly fees. But in order to maintain your consultant status, you need to purchase a minimum of 100 items per year, so if you purchase a starter kit that is taken care of for a year. In order to be active for a month and receive commission from anyone that signs up under you, you need to purchase only 25 items per month.
Q: You purchase the accessories at 45% off, sell for regular price and keep profit?
A: Yes, each item you purchase costs you $2.75 and then you sell it for $5 plus tax. Corporate charges the full amount of tax (tax on the $5 amount) up front. This way you don't have to worry about taxes and they give you a 1099 to file for taxes.
Q: Items can be placed in salons, boutiques, shops etc.... A: Yes, items can be sold in any of those places.
Q: Can you set up booth's at fairs?
A: YES! I love to set up a booth at a fair, boutique, etc. This is a really great way to get a lot of sales and contacts.
Q: How does the jewelry compare to cookie lee, premier and the other direct sales biz?
A: I have heard with Cookie Lee that the quality of most of the items is the same and with Cookie Lee you pay double the amount or more. I would compare the quality to Cookie Lee, Kohls and the like.
